Artist BioVisual Artist, Illustrator, Printmaker
Nuode LI is an interdisciplinary visual artist, illustrator, and printmaker whose work explores themes of emotion, memory, language, individual experience, and the natural world. She holds an MA in Illustration from Kingston University, where she developed her passion for combining traditional and digital media, and an MA in Visual Culture Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which provided a strong foundation in theoretical frameworks.

Her artistic practice transcends the boundaries of any single medium, combining illustration, printmaking, and ceramics to explore materiality and the process of making. Rooted in a tactile and embodied approach, Nuode creates work that often calls for physical encounter to be fully perceived, inviting viewers to feel the texture and brush strokes.

Drawing inspiration from literature, philosophy, and daily life observation, Nuode captures fleeting emotions and visual elements that show the lives of ordinary people amid rapid societal and global changes. Her work resists grand narratives, instead focusing on the individual experience and quiet presence of people, objects and nature in contemporary life, through a subtle yet persistent female perspective.

Nuode’s work has been exhibited in London, Cambridge, and Liverpool, and received the Finalist for the Hiii Illustration 2022, Books Merit Award for the iJungle Illustration Awards 2024, and Publishing Longlist for the World Illustration Awards 2025.
