Dream, Tapir is a self-initiated project. It tells a story of a South American Tapir, who escapes the zoo in a dream and returns to its childhood rainforest. There, it enjoys playing among plants and cuddling with its mother. Yet when the dream fades, the tapir awakens to find itself once again behind the bars of the zoo.
With delicate brushstrokes and fluid colours, I want to capture the thriving vitality and sunlight of the wild, creating a strong contrast with the zoo house. Finishing at the tapir’s melancholic gaze, the work invites its audience to reflect on the essence of life, the warmth of kinship, and our profound connection to the natural world.Watercolor and gouache on paper
